I just finished watching Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men which takes place after the Wolverine and the X-Men "Days of Future Past" story arc (which takes place right after the X-Men 3 film).  I recommend both, particularly Joss' offering.  It's arguably the best Marvel-based animated film ever made, though it's not for kids as it's at least R-rated.  Both are on Netflix for streaming, so enjoy.
